About the Award
The Foundation Excellence Award is the first of its kind for Texas A&M University. Its unique characteristic is that it funds educational scholarships specifically for deserving African American students. While BFSN is the operational and networking arm, the Aggie Impact Endowment is the funding arm providing scholarships for current and future students. The scholarships are presented through the Aggie Impact Foundation Excellence Award.
Foundation Excellence Award scholarships help support outstanding students from underrepresented groups who are U.S. residents and who gain admittance to Texas A&M University in College Station as an entering freshman. This includes students from economically and educationally disadvantaged backgrounds. Academic success, leadership, community service, and special talents are considered in selection. Recipients are selected by The Texas A&M Foundation, an independent, nonprofit corporation that raises private gifts in support of Texas A&M University.
